How can you explain commodity futures and to link agriculture to a child?
I tried many websites and books but none of them are completely collapsed anyone know that. If a corn farmer looked in the book and seeing the trade of corn $ 6 a bushel and said to himself if only in November and my corn crop could sell for a profit and be happy, but every year when I sell my wheat, the price is so low that it loses money. Futures for the opportunity to farmers to sell in February and make a profit. Then would be covered by the cash price of corn. So when November arrives and the ground is $ 3 per bushel a bushel for their crop 5000 was $ 15,000 in prizes! but then that it would buy the futures contract that paid him $ 15,000 for less than what it means that allready made a profit of 15.000 (30.000, who originally received-15, 000 and nearby) The important point here to understand how genuine hedging can never be lost in the fall the price of the merchandise is taken, it can never win a price increase. If the price of wheat was $ 9 a bushel in November would be up $ 15,000 in the cash price, but to close their future coverage would have to buy their contracts of more than 15,000 who originally received. So what is the moral of the story giving the best to be happy with $ 6 a bushel.

How can I trade with thinkorswim gold? Is this the future of my only option?
Most people use Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) like GLD. Or you can trade shares of gold mines – no direct trade, but at least receive some relative movements.
