Future Gold contract?
Hi, I'm new to commercial products. I wondered what would happen at the end of the contract term. For example, if I buy a futures contract at $ 90,000 gold (100 * $ 900 oz) … and put an initial margin of 5% .. So, if the price does not move not above my purchase price ($ 900) by the time my contract expires … Does that mean I have to pay my total contract value Borker … .. 90,000 dollars and what would happen if I will not be able to pay the amount broker.that means my total will not be able to trade until you pay the full amount .. Please let me know .. Thank you Jason
If you need this in Yahoo, I would not trade gold futures. Nothing wrong with trade, of course, but it is better to start with something simple such as gold (GLD ETF symbol on any savings account business). To answer your question, however, check with your agent. Generally, they can automatically roll the contract next month, or have closed their doors for the money. Do not expect to fork out 90k for physical gold.
